Shangton Care Village

Shangton Care Village, just outside Market Harborough, was the site of a former care home which held outline planning consent for residential redevelopment as 27 ‘self-build’ plots. Illman Young were engaged by the client to project manage the discharge of the reserved matters and various conditions attached to the planning consent. This required the engagement of a number of other consultants to deal with issues on Ecology and Heritage as well as producing more detailed site layouts for the overall scheme and developing a set of design parameters for each self-build plot.

• Resolving overall development layout – including scale and massing of proposed development, plot divisions, boundaries etc

• Detailed open space design – all public spaces, incorporating streetscape design, play areas and SuDS features

• Surface water drainage scheme – working with the project engineer to develop SuDS solutions for highways run-off and plot by plot SuDS provision parameter plans

• Planting plans, 5 year site-wide landscape management plan, and long term SuDS management plan.
