Whitehouse, Area 10, is situated on the western edge of Milton Keynes and forms part of the Milton Keynes Western Expansion Area (MKWEA). The site extends to circa 228 hectares and is planned to accommodate 4330 new dwellings and associated infrastructure.
A strategic masterplan was developed which defined the existing landscape features to be retained and set out the proposed infrastructure, development parcels and hierarchy of public open spaces
Illman Young were appointed to assist with the strategic landscape issues such as the review of existing hedgerows and treatment to strategic green infrastructure corridors, strategies for Infrastructure planting including large scale buffer planting to the boundary of the development, street tree planting, and access improvements to the North Bucks Way which runs through the centre of the development
Discharge of reserved matters for a range of POS from Town squares, LEAP’s and NEAP’s to large attenuation basins
Consultation process was established with the Milton Keynes Partnership and Parks Trust to ensure that all stakeholders were closely involved.
